The IAPB Standard List Coalition
The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) leads a global alliance of civil society organisations, corporates and professional bodies in promoting eye health. IAPB’s mission is to eliminate the main causes of avoidable blindness and visual impairment by bringing together public, private and non-profit sectors.
One of the obstacles to achieving the goal of eliminating avoidable blindness is an equitable, sustainable, comprehensive eye-care system that efficiently utilises scarce resources to identify and tackle need. The IAPB Standard List forges relationships and creates mutually beneficial strategic collaborations and partnerships within the eye health sector. It addresses the need to improve access to quality eye care products at price points that are sustainable and appropriate. Technical and Corporate Sponsors IAPB exists to be a united voice for eye health representing all stakeholders with an interest in eye care solutions. We know that our aim can only be achieved by the establishment of a larger global eye health market. We believe that the private sector plays a vital role in establishing this bigger market and see the IAPB Standard List as the focus for partnerships between IAPB and the private sector.
